Want to update this 50-yr-old facade, giving us a more modern look than this wrought iron. Want to paint over the red brick and change color palette of roof line. Might like a high awning or porte-cochère at front entry to help define the entry... which is on the drive at the side, not at front of building. Want new double doors at front on both 1st and 2nd floors. The black ironwork does provide structure to the upper balcony, so we can keep the structure but perhaps clad it with something more appealing. Parking is in rear, and all traffic into building comes from parking, not the front.
Building houses multiple research companies. We need to remove mailboxes and add locked mailboxes at front, perhaps replacing some of the window on either side of door. We like the light facilitiated by the glass doors but these are dated and rough. Would prefer a darker brick paint color, like Mombassa, Charcoal, etc. but need trim definition. It looks too boxy and residential apartment-like now.
It's in a historic district but does not need to keep its current wrought iron; besides, it is broken at many places. We do not need ramp into front entry but could consider adding it. Drive is narrow so we cannot expand beyond this footprint.
