OBAMA PRESIDENTIAL CENTER
The basic idea behind the design of the Obama Presidential Center is the name and surname of the President of the USA.
The name BARACK is used in the urban designed solution and the surname OBAMA appears in the floor plan design of the building. Obama Presidential Center has three floors and is positioned in line in the form of text that follows two parallel roads in the North-South direction.
The proposed solution fits into the existing terrain of Jackson Park. Theme designed solution gives an answer to the functional, spatial and capacity requirements.
Materials which will be used for the floor plans of object and the facade are given in increments of 26x26 ft. Parking area (which occupies the space under the letters O and B) is partly open and partly covered from the south. One of the entrances into the building is from the parking area, while the main entrance is on the west side under the letter M. Access paths are connecting the name BARACK and the surname OBAMA in the urban plan. Water surfaces (such as fountains) are provided within the name.
On the fifth facade (top view) and in the floor plan of the building the letters comprising the surname OBAMA can be seen.
