Hello. I am very excited to see what you come up with, and I hope that you will want to take on my project.
Attached you will find pictures of my kitchen. It is over 40 years old, except for updated appliances when I bought the house, 10 years ago. I only have counter space on one wall. I need more.
I would like something with a peninsula or some kind of built in eating table with storage, but I cannot afford to expand the footprint -- which is roughly 13 x 11'. Not very big.
You will notice a brick area in the photos -- that is the fireplace. It's 2 x 8' and makes about half of one kitchen wall (along the 13' dimension). It also serves as a partial wall in our living room, although we do not use the fireplace and have a fish tank in front of it.
We could get rid of the fireplace because it does not work. The chimney had to be taken down on the second floor of the house, because we put the washer/dryer there.
There is a small pantry at the end of the fireplace wall on the kitchen side -- but I would love more storage.
The corner to the right of the fridge is where the microwave is, and the cabinet space in the corner is a lazy susan, which I hate.
I like the idea of an open kitchen that looks into the living room so that when I entertain and cook, I could be involved in visiting friends.
The dimensions of the kitchen are about 13 x 11'. The door goes out on to a deck in the back. There is a window to the right of the door that I would be willing to sacrifice, if necessary, because the door is a french door.
I can't wait to see what you come up with! Pay no attention to the mess...
