Existing S shape breaks space into few smaller parts. With this project I tried to reconnect it and made it more open and fluent. I was trying to plan minimal amount of building works that could give us maximal comfort. I kept all wall coverings in same conditions because they are exactly as it should be in one mountain house - wooden, to bring nature feelings into space.
Kitchen wall is partly removed.
Bar is made toward new eating area. It can be used for quick meals. With this bar we have connection between kitchen and dining. Also, visual connection is made by using same white colour for kitchen elements and dining table and same kind of lighting for dining table and bar.
Dining table is in new place and it is more comfortable now, with bench on one side and three chairs on the other. Space is comfort enough to add two side chairs.
Living area is kept in same position. Fire oven is rotated 90° so that now there is more space for more comfortable sofas on both sides. Also, oven is now closer to living and dining area to get more opportunity to feel fire, which is characteristic for mountain houses. Bigger amount of fire woods, planed vertically next to oven, brings even more nature feelings into space.
"Reading corner" is made on the place of the former eating area.
This part of space is used as a bit separated space, with two smaller armchairs. It is interesting to be used as reading corner or for some other kind of intimate conversations, small talks...
Pergola room is kept separated.
It is very narrow and physically attached to main space, so it is hard to integrate it. Connection is made through the glass door and by using bench similar to one in dinning area, but in bigger scale to be more comfortable, with lot of pillows. It is pleasant to sit here and look at the mountains.
Side window is bigger and moved closer to other windows for even more open feeling.
