We tried to elaborate two WOW solutions for you, given the short time available!
Beauty is a matter of harmony, proportions, contrast and detail. All our designs, before we deliver them, need to verify the above criteria.
The WOW effect, instead, derives from surprise = the unexpected.
Our two solutions, to us, fulfill both concept of beauty and wonder.
Whether they match your taste or not, we think we're offering a good job!
First solution is design edge: we picked a few stunning pieces of design -all from Italy except a Dutch brand, Moooi, which we love.
We imagined all floors in white onyx stone, very big sheets. To create contrast and warm up all the white of floors + walls we inserted wallpapers: two matching wallpapers for the corridor and the livingroom and some other design wallpapers for the bedrooms. The brand we used- Inkiostro- scales up the chosen designs according to the size of the walls. Their texture is very materic and rich.
In this 'out of time' background we went on red and whites, adding gorgeous light fixtures.
The futuristic kitchen is in corian by Ernesto Meda and it has been designed by archistar Jean Nouvel.
Second solution is soft and elegant, less edgy yet WOW since every piece of furniture is perfectly designed and many are simply masterpieces (i.e. dining room table, the kitchen, chandeliers etc).
Color scheme is natural: we think a wood floor would offer a more comfortable living.
No wallpapers but earthy colors on the walls to match the materials of the furniture (leather, soldi wood, metal. No synthetic materials).
In both solutions bedroom nr 3 has been conceived as a second livingroom/guests bedroom/studio. We think that, being open on the dining, that would be its best use thus separating the day area from the night area.
We consider lighting extremely important in interior design. We thought of light fixtures like pieces of art more than just functional elements. You cannot have any wow effect without proper lighting.
As far as costs are concerned, first solution with onyx stone and the corian kitchen is a bit more expensive. You may be around 300.000$ including all FF&E, floors, doors etc
Second solution is about 250.000$, main difference being the wooden floor.
Prices are from Italian lists. Same products abroad can be more expensive.
All products names and brands are indicated in the drawings.
We didn't have time to search for every single item price but we're quite used to sort furniture and materials here in Italy for high end projects we do all over Europe. We're a team of 6 Italian architects.
We would love to somehow follow your refurbisment, in case, and we're available for any further information you may need.
