This designer gave me all the deliverables requested including materials l asked for. He/she was very creative in making the room "warmer" by lowering the ceiling height and installing a wood ceiling. The steam bath is also "more intimate" by not having glass all the way across the room (having the towel closet). Unfortunately, that comes with the impact of not making the room "spacious". The only issue with the design functionality/buildability is that moving the toilet and adding 2 windows (rather than making the existing window smaller) probably adds another $3K+ to the project. Also, I wonder about the cost of extra lighting in the steam room with the setup of the wall (what makes it cozy - makes it darker) as well as the cost of adding a false ceiling). Also you have the cost of the "false ceiling". I would have liked 1 more perspective. I really liked the perspective from the shower stall. There should have been a perspective from the doorway since that's the "first" impression of the bathroom.
Dear Client, Thank you for your constructive notes and the explanation of what you liked and what you would have liked to see in my proposal. I’m from Miami and I didn’t understand at first the meaning of what a “cold bathroom” is.. until you send the exterior images which helped me on the development of the project. I know it takes more than one proposal in order to achieve a final design, so in this case please don’t hesitate to contact me if you need more help. For the tiles selections I advise you order some samples first to see what goes better for your bathroom and to see if in person looks the same. Another alternative for tiles is Floor & Decor, I saw there is one located near you in Reno. I have direct contact with tile vendors in Florida that could give me best quality products, there should be some direct tile import manufacturers near you too. I never been to Truckee but I would love to go some time!, Good luck in your project!! Karen A.
