Couple of corrections: ----------------------------- Hi, Thanks for the submission - it's beautifully laid out. Few comments (sorry, I was in a hurry when I wrote this so if something doesn't make sense, ask me for a clarification): Pdf - Page 1 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1) The Terrace roof (First Floor) is not 100% solid and has holes for lighting/ventilation purposes. The summer temperature in Amritsar goes as high as 48 degrees and if excessive sunlight is allowed to pass through, the Terrace would become too hot to be used for sitting. Do you think (and we might be wrong) the sunlight should be restricted a bit more (maybe by interleaving the holes with wooden beams)? Pots can still come on its top. 2) We like the Kitchen windows to be larger. Can they be laid out like in the attached image? >> The image can be found at http://www.pinterest.com/pin/293156256967610016/ 3) Similarly, we would like a window in the Living room, opening into the Parking (if possible). The parking will be used only overnight and the window can be used to allow some light/air during the day. >> Correction: Pls ignore this. I had a closer look at the design and there seem to be enough windows. 4) Can the following surfaces be enhanced on the Ground floor? - Main Boundary wall - Outer walls (Kitchen, Living room etc) - Parking Roof Lighting 5) In the picture, the material/tiles that you have used on the Exterior surface is not very clear. Would it be possible to provide internet links to the tiles etc so we get a better idea? 6) Also - can the wooden area be enhanced a little on the facade? Page 3 ~~~~~~~~~ 1) The Front/Back Lawns should have stone/wood/other flooring (not grass which is messy). Descking may be considered. The front lawn would also be used for parking two-wheelers. 2) Can the Kitchen Island be moved to one side rather than in the center. This would allow wider walk area on at least one side. 3) Could you show Fitted Oven/Microwave accessories in the kitchen photo? 4) The Dining area is pretty simple. Can the walls be bit enhanced? A storage cabinet (for utensils, crockery etc) would be good. 5) Can the space under the stairs be utilized somehow - maybe for the TV which will also free up space in the adjacent bedroom. Please note that there will be a window beneath the stairs as well overlooking into the parking. again, we prefer large windows. 6) Pantry is very thoughful of you but we accord higher importance to prayer room. Since you have managed to create good amount of space (for pantry), we would like to use it as prayer room instead. The seating could be moved to Terrace (hence the request to avid too many passthroughs in the Terrace roof). The Pantry itself is required to simply stock things and possibly a microwave/over. is merging Pantry with Store room a good idea? 7) Use of glass wall for the Store/Pantry to promote feeling of space? Page 19 ~~~~~~~~~ 1) Is it possible to clear up the roof area and organize the fittings a little better? We would like to keep most of it available for seating/walking or further extensions. For example, the solar panels could be laid out flat on the wooden roof? Also, moving other fittings within a room might be a good idea to protect from adverse weather? 2) Could we add Rain water harvesting (for self-use)? Cheers
Great out of the 'box' thinking. We really like the external view with overhanging wings. One of the most thorough set of submission documents received. Missing a toilet on ground floor and the kitchen is potentially a little closed in, but overall we really enjoyed this design. Thanks you for your submission.
The second floor layout was the most innovative I've seen. Very good use of space with minimal wasted on hallways. I thought the first floor felt a little choked between living and dining. I don't think that would be received well by the marketplace. I'm not sure how other submissions managed it but most of their images came up automatically and one could flip through them while these had to be opened individually.
