We need a space miracle! And need the help of the genius designers out there!
We, two scientists, moved into this tiny (~650 ft2) condo about 2.5 years ago, when we left Europe and most of our belongings behind. Now we have re-accumulated all our stuff and are running out of space and storage. We are happy in this sunny home and do not want/cannot move, but we need some major interior design to get the most out of it.
- Best use of the spaces, plenty of “dead” corners in the house that we would like to use as storage
- Living room has to turn into a guest room (sofa bed) when needed, and have capability for a big table for dinner parties
- Bedroom should somehow be divided and carve out space for a possible cradle/baby corner
We want a design that is young, happy and active like us.
In the new design the living room will continue to be also our guest room when we have visitors. The new design will carve out space for a cradle, as we hope to have soon a tiny addition to our family.
Currently, we limit dinner parties as for these to happen major movements of furniture within the house are required (sofa bed, transport and placing of foldable table and chairs). Ideally we would have the capability of hosting spontaneous gatherings without major and exhausting relocations of the furniture.
There are lots of dead spaces and corners in the house, as well as a big corridor, that should be re-designed keeping in mind the need for storage space.
We will be executing this design ASAP. If he/she agrees, we would still like to be in touch (but not on site) with the designer after the completion in case changes are needed during execution.
Most of our furniture can go, except the sofa (king sofa bed) and TV. We might even consider getting rid of our current bed and dresser if better replacements are suggested. We need a tiny computer desk somewhere, but close enough to the TV to be connected to it (also space for X-BOX connected to Tv). We have lots of books, and shelves could be an option.
Because we are renting, the improvements need to be easily moved and taken with us when we will be finally leaving our first home and should not cause major structural changes to the condo. Therefore, most built-ins are not functional in our case but we could consider fake, panel walls if that would help use the space at best. In fact, ideally the living room would have a panel/screen between the open space and the bathroom to give a bit of privacy to our guests. Be creative 
We love colors like green, white cream, wood. Because the house has plenty of light throughout the day, we are happy with white walls, but also open to suggestions on other colors.
Official floor plans were not available from the landlord, so we measured the space and created a plan using online software: please do not hesitate to contact us if additional measurements are necessary.
Our budget is $3000-5000.
Fits in our budget
Deliverables should include a complete interior design plan, including room layout, recommended furniture, color schemes, wall coloring, accessories, etc. We would appreciate specificity down to brand and model of furniture and other items, brand and color of paint for walls, etc.
The condo was built in the 1800s and features very high ceiling (10ft), thick brick walls and a big deck.
